Exotics Routine and Diagnostic
Packerland Veterinary Center treats all sorts of “pocket pets” from birds, rodents, iguanas, chinchillas, ferrets and bearded dragons. These special pets have special needs and it is important that they are cared for properly. This includes regular veterinary care and annual physical examinations. Many of these animals have very subtle symptoms and their illness can rapidly worsen. One of the main reasons that these animals get sick is from poor diet and husbandry and at Packerland Veterinary Center we can educate you on how to properly care for your special pet. Also, whenever you get a new pet, they should be isolated from your other pets until they are examined by a Veterinarian. Many of these animals contract diseases from the pet sore or breeding animals they were housed with.
